The any scale Fly-In was hosted by the North Dallas Radio Control Club and Wyliewarbirds Saturday October 3rd 2009. There were prizes donated by Plano RC, Mikes Hobby Shop, A1 Hobbies, Wildhare RC as well as Wyliewarbirds. The event was held at NDRC Eagle Field outside of Aubrey, Texas. The CD for this event was Terry Farmer owner/operator of Wyliewarbirds a custom RC aftermarket and building service.
Registration/impound was handled by NDRC member Charles Schaffer and food was handled by legendary RC pilot/cook/Poole man Dr. Bruce Lakatos.
The weather for this years fly-in was flawless. Cool temperatures, calm winds, clear to broken scattered clouds, perfect weather for flying. The start of the event went smooth with a pilots meeting and all round flying briefing given by Terry at 9:40ish. The flying was brisk as we had planes in the sky non stop all the way up to lunch time.
Dr.Bruce treated everyone to his NDRC Brisket, complete with BarBQ sauce, fix’ns and chips that were all you could eat. Nobody left hungry that’s for sure. The food only gave a slight reprieve from flying because as soon as the plates were thrown away the flying started back up in earnest.

After two weeks of rain and gray skies, the last two days can only be described as FANTASTIC! Cool temperatures, clear sunny skies with a few picturesque clouds, reasonable wind ... perfect weather for 15 aggressive guys to go mano-y-mano for six rounds of SSC

We had a couple of new faces, Derrick Hoover and Dennis Moore, who have been under the tutelage of the master, Evan Wenger, so any fantasies of "streamer tugs" and "fresh meat" were soon dispelled.
Evan is growing quite a crew of combat pilots at his club, and will have more showing up at Sherman next month.
