Safety Update May/June 2010
I would like to ask all members to once again review the 2010 Safety Rules and in particular, Rule #5 which specifies that all flight operations expect for landings and take-offs are to be “east of the runway boundary”.
Why is this important? It’s pretty simple: it is extremely dangerous to operate an RC aircraft close to yourself, other pilots, or spectators. As a pilot, you may feel that you have perfect control of your aircraft and enjoy doing low passes and aerobatics down the runway, but when you do this, you are putting your fellow pilots at risk and all it takes is a slight misjudgment or an equipment failure and a disaster could occur.

If you are not in the above North Dallas RC Club Member Appreciation Day photo, you missed a great day at Eagle Field. Over 105 members and family enjoyed Dr. Bruce's finest brisket and trimmings and the sky was full (more or less) of planes all day. It doesn't get much better than this; a day at Eagle Field with friends and family, enjoying a nice lunch, lot's of great raffle prizes and free toys for the kids. Isn't this a great hobby?"

All,
In accordance with the AMA and in compliance with our Gold Club Leader status with that governing body. The North Dallas RC Club is obligated once a year to update the safety rules for our flying site. This year the NDRCC BOD has put forth the following new rules changes effective immediately.
During the drafting of the new 2010 Safety Rules it will become necessarry to re align the field in accordance with the new changes. Please click on this link to view the new layout. The BOD hopes to have a new aerial photo made so that everyone can see the limits and the boundaries that need to be avoided.

Rules & Safety Information Important Note From Your Safety Officer
With a little common sense and diligence we can enjoy our hobby safely. There may be occasions when we need professional medical attention at the flying field.
At Eagle field near Aubrey, dialing 911 will connect you to the Denton County Sheriff emergency dispatch. Tell them you are at the NDRCC model airplane field just northeast of 1810 Brewer Road, which is northeast of Brewer Road and Fishtrap Road off of FM 2931. The nearest hospital is Denton Regional hospital. Drive West on Highway 380 to Mayhill road then south to the hospital, which is near I-35.
