May 2019 Meeting Minutes

The May 2019 meeting of the North Dallas R/C Club was called to order by Dave Schaefer at 7
pm on May 22nd, 2019 at the Frisco Public Library.
Previous month’s minutes were approved as posted on the website.
VISITORS/NEW MEMBERS – none
PRESIDENT’S REPORT- Dave Schaefer. Dave reported that he along with the help of a few
other members has generated approx. $1000.00 from the sale of items that were donated to the
club. Dave requested that members or others not leave used equipment out at the field. Dave
displayed the current water level of Lake Lewisville and suggested the creation of a written flood
action plan for the future. It was suggested that the June meeting be held at the field on Saturday,
June 15 th , 2019. On a side note, Dave mentioned that he is working on a UH1B Helicopter model
for the Cavanaugh Flight Museum.
SECRETARY –. Absent. Bruce Lakatos recorded the meeting minutes.
VICE PRESIDENT – Patrick McNamara. Absent.
TREASURER – Dave Cotton. Dave gave a report of the financial status of the club as of
5/22/19. A motion to accept treasurer’s report passed. Dave explained how our surety bond
works. It was suggested that the field account name be changed for clarity purposes.
MEMBERSHIP- Bruce Lakatos. Membership is up to 150.
SAFETY- Charles Shafer- No safety issues. Charles did stress the importance of keeping our
models east of the runway.
FIELD – Rodney McEntire. Absent. Charles Shafer did add that the mowing continues with the
exception of the low wet areas. Flood planning was discussed, including relocating equipment,
raising equipment and turning off power to the fence and RV hookups.
SOUND- Billy Slater. Absent.
TRAINING– Rich Phillips- no report.
CD REPORTS – The Float fly has been rescheduled for July 27, 2019 at Willow Grove Park,
Lake conditions pending. The warbird event has 20 volunteers so far and preparation is moving
forward.
OLD BUSINESS- None.

SHOW and TELL – Rich Phillips showed his electric Dualist MKIII.
RAFFLE- Olga Lawson-Andrews conducted the monthly raffle. The quarterly raffle is for a
Hitec charger.
