SECRETARY’S REPORT -- Billy Slater:

I received the following from Gary James regarding OpenTX operation system:

“ An increasing number of modelers have purchased or are considering purchasing an RC system that uses the OpenTX operating system.  All of the FrSky and Turnigy 9XPro transmitters as well as some others have the ability to load OpenTX.  The operating system is very powerful, but can also be a bit intimidating at first because it is so different from what we are used to.

I am proposing to host a free short seminar on the basic and intermediate level capabilities of the OpenTX system and how to take advantage of them. I will also touch on some of the more advanced features like telemetry, etc.  The seminar would most likely be held on a weekend afternoon and possibly at the T-bird meeting location (Buffalo West restaurant in Wes Ft Worth)to take advantage of their computer display system.  Interested modelers would be able to bring their transmitters (and laptops if desired) and have the opportunity to "walk through" the setup and operation of OpenTX.  I am by no means an expert on the system, but having been using it for several years and have developed a basic understanding of the system.  If we get sufficient response, I will invite the local FrSky distributor to attend and participate to answer advanced questions.

If you are interested, reply to me directly at:

and if we get sufficient response, I will start planning to hold a seminar.
