The August meeting of the North Dallas RC Club occurred on August 19, 2020 via Zoom due to COVID-19.
President Dave Schaefer called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve August meeting minutes as published. Approval passed
unanimously, by voice vote.
VISITORS – Member George Tahu claimed to be a visitor since this was the first meeting he has attended
in the years he has been a member.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Dave Schaefer:
Runway looks good with the recent sealing. Thanks to all who arranged and supervised this project.
Stripping will be done in the next few weeks. This will require closing the field to flying for approximately
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Josh Kleen:
Taxining on the sidewalk leading to the runway is not permitted and dangerous.
SECRETARY’S REPORT — Billy Slater:
TREASURER’S REPORT — Dave Cotton:
Dave reported the financial condition as of the end of July .
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve the financial report as presented by Dave. Approval
passed unanimously, by voice vote.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT – Bruce Lakatos:
Bruce reports 163 members as of the date of the meeting.
FIELD REPORT — Rodney Mcentire:
Field was mowed on the Monday before the meeting.
The electric fence had failed and was repaired.
Need a number to call if electric power to the field is off.
SAFETY REPORT — Charles Schafer:
No incidents reported.
SOUND REPORT – Billy Slater:
An analysis of NDRCC sound footprint has been completed and will be presented along with
recommendations at the September meeting.
TRAINING – Rich Phillips:
There was a question as to whether the new members will need training.
RAFFLE — :
A nice tool box was raffled using an new online tool.
CD REPORTS and EVENTS:
NDRCC Warbird and Float Fly have been canceled due COVID-19.
