The February meeting of the North Dallas RC Club occurred on February 24, 2021 via ZOOM due to the
COVID pandemic. President Josh Kleen called the meeting to order at 7:07 PM.
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve the January meeting minutes as published. Approval
passed unanimously, by hand vote.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Josh Kleen:
Hope that everyone is safe after the winter storm. If anyone needs help please let one if the club officers
AMA has received notification from the FAA regarding the safety test for recreational drone flight. This
is a 25 question multiple choice “no fail” test. When it is finalized we will have test sessions to
administer this test, probably in late 2021.
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Wayne Shuck:
Wayne has the current safety AMA safety rules to post at the field. There was discussion about having a
larger size version made to post at the field, Wayne agreed to pursue this.
SECRETARY’S REPORT — Billy Slater:
TREASURER’S REPORT — Dave Cotton:
Dave reported the financial condition as of the end of January .
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve the financial report as presented by Dave. Approval
passed unanimously, by voice vote.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT – Bruce Lakatos:
Bruce reports 142 members as of the date of the meeting.
FIELD REPORT — Rodney Mcentire:
Rodney was not present.
The north gate was repaired by Art Wagner.
SAFETY REPORT — Charles Schafer:
Charles reported an incident where a EDF jet went through the shelter area and crashed in the parking
lot. There was no one hurt and no property damage other than the jet. Turns out there were multiple
EDF jets taking off at the same time and the pilot of the accident model was focused on another
SOUND REPORT – Billy Slater:
The new sound rules have been posted at the field with help from Charles Schafer.
TRAINING – Rich Phillips:
No training going on now due to the weather. Training is expected to pick up as the weather improves.
RAFFLE –Rich Phillips:
No raffle was held.
CD REPORTS and EVENTS:
Charles Schafer announced an aero tow event for March 22 at the field.
Approval from the Corp of Engineers and the city of Lake Dallas for a float fly May 1st. An AMA sanction
is being pursued by Josh Kleen for this event.
WBOT 2021 planning is moving forward.
Charles Schafer announced that member Marvin Krebs passed away in December of 2020. His wife has
asked the club for help in disposing of his RC equipment.
The changes below were proposed and discussed in the January meeting for vote this month.
A change to the Youth annual dues from $0 to $15 is proposed to match the AMA fee structure. This
rule change was approved with the stipulation that existing youth members are grandfathered and will
not be charged dues until they reach their 19th birthday. This change was approved by unanimous vote.
A change to the bylaws to permit virtual meetings is proposed. This change was approved by unanimous

passed sound rule is proposed. This change was approved by unanimous vote.
