The July meeting of the North Dallas RC Club occurred on July 15, 2020 via Zoom because of COVID
restrictions. President Dave Schaefer called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve June meeting minutes as published. Approval passed
unanimously, by voice vote.
VISITORS – None
Ed Acklin reported that Earnest Hawthorne passed away earlier this week. A visitation will be held at
Aria Crematorium and Funeral Home located on Preston Road south of George Bush. The viewing will be
from 2-4 on Friday July 17th.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Dave Schaefer:
Please help with keeping the field safe. If something happens someone does something unsafe please
correct with an upbeat corrective comment at the time.
Please keep social distancing and follow CDC guidelines during this trying COVID time.
New rules were implemented on an emergency basis about COVID safety. These will be discussed and
voted on for permanent implementation later in this meeting.
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Josh Kleen:
Josh discussed the emergency implementation of the COVID rules by the board. A board voted to
implement pending a confirming vote in this meeting.
SECRETARY’S REPORT — Billy Slater:

Billy Slater presented the report prepared by Dave on the financial condition as of the end of June. .
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve the financial report as presented. Approval passed
unanimously, by voice vote.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT – Bruce Lakatos:
Bruce was not present.
FIELD REPORT — Rodney Mcentire:
Rodney thanks all who helped mow the field.
There is a new chain on both gates. Several unused locks were removed. Our lock and the landlords

Rich Phillips held a virtual raffle for a small RTF warbird. Ed Acklin won this item.
CD REPORTS and EVENTS:
COVID has caused the cancellation of most events.
Charles Shaefer reported that we have yet to receive Corp of Engineers approval for our Float Fly in
October and the possibility does not appear promising.
Charles also reported that our WBOT event is still scheduled for September 25 and 26th.
Emergency COVID-19 were brought to the membership for vote. There was discussion on the
restrictions on spectators and potential new members, the number of negative COVID tests required for
admittance. Also discussed was that it would take a simple vote to terminate when the rule is no longer

At tonight’s meeting, members will be asked to vote to make the following rules permanent for
all members and guests while at Eagle Field. The board expects to loosen certain rules once
COVID-19 risks are reduced, but until such a time, the safety of our members takes top priority.
- All Pilots are REQUIRED to adhere to all safety guidelines required by the CDC, the State
of Texas, and Denton County. These include, but are not limited to the following:
a. Maintain adequate social distancing of 6 feet from all other individuals not in
b. Thoroughly wash hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer. The club can
not guarantee these will be available at the field, so members must bring their
c. Cover all coughs and sneezes.
- Members that have contracted COVID-19 or Members that have been or may have
reasonably been exposed to COVID-19, must NOT enter the premises of Eagle Field
without first having been tested for COVID-19 and that test showing a negative result.
- If a member has Fever or any symptoms related to COVID-19, that member must NOT
enter Eagle Field until at least 72 hours after symptoms pass or a COVID-19 test has
been taken and the result was negative.
- No guests may use or visit the field, except for those family members in the same
household as a club member.
- No spectators may be present on the field that are not current or potential club
- Food items and their remains, along with ANY OTHER TRASH brought or created, must
be carried out by the member that brought or created it.
- All members are responsible for their own health. Each member is different and has
unique circumstances related to their individual health. The club can not guarantee the
safety or the health of any individual that chooses to use Eagle Field. Any member that
chooses to use or visit Eagle Field acknowledges that risk and assumes all responsibility
