March 2019 Meeting Minutes

The March meeting of the North Dallas RC Club occurred on March 15, 2019 at NDRCC Eagle Field.
President Dave Schaefer called the meeting to order at 12 PM (noon).
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve February meeting minutes as amended. Approval
passed unanimously, by voice vote.
VISITORS – New Member Tony Raineri
PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Dave Schaefer:
Dave reported on the SAE Aero Competition held at the Fort Worth Thunderbird Field last weekend.
There were three classes of models built by University teams from all over the world. Competition was weight carrying ability, planned mission completion, and aid supply delivery – bomb drop. Dave was a fill in pilot for teams that did not bring an experienced RC pilot.
Gary Mills died last Tuesday. Gary was a longtime member who built scale. He competed in the
invitation only Top Gun several times. He will be missed.
The FAA is now requiring the FAA drone registration number on the exterior of all models over a
minimum weight flown outside.
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Patrick McNamara:
The NDRCC club charter has been submitted to the AMA.
The April NDRCC meeting will be Wednesday April 24 at the Frisco Library meeting room.
SECRETARY’S REPORT — Billy Slater:

TREASURER’S REPORT — Dave Cotton:
Dave reported the financial condition as of the end of February. .
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve the financial report as presented by Dave. Approval
passed unanimously, by voice vote.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT – Bruce Lakatos:
Bruce reports 142 members as of the date of the meeting.
FIELD REPORT — Rodney Mcentire:
No Report.
Field looks good.
SAFETY REPORT — Charles Schafer:

No incidents have been reported according to Charles.
SOUND REPORT – Billy Slater:
No Report
TRAINING – Rich Phillips:
No Report
RAFFLE –Olga Lawson-Andrews :
The quarterly raffle item , the Ready To Fly P-51D was won by Joc Parker.
CD REPORTS and EVENTS:
Aerotow will be Monday March 24 at NDRCC Eagle Field.
The Float Fly will be May 4.
Warbirds over Texas number 9 will be June 7-8. Charles Schafer is looking for volunteers.
OLD BUSINESS:
Vote on proposed Bylaw changes will be at the April meeting. These changes are posted on the web site.
Gary Guillory brought up the need for an increase in membership. He also discussed the need for
publicity for WBOT.
