March 2022 – Meeting Minutes

The March meeting of the North Dallas RC Club occurred on March 16, 2022 at the Prosper Town Hall.
President Josh Kleen called the meeting to order at 6:51 PM.
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve February meeting minutes as published. Approval
passed unanimously, by voice vote.
VISITORS – None
PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Josh Kleen:
The plan is to hold the April meeting at the Prosper Town Hall meeting room provided it is available and
the May meeting at the field.
Josh stated that he had other items to report in other sections of the meeting.
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Wayne Shuck:
No report.
SECRETARY’S REPORT — Billy Slater:
The Weatherford swap meet is scheduled for this coming weekend.
TREASURER’S REPORT — Art Wagner:
Art reported the financial condition as of the end of February
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve the financial report as presented by Art. Approval
passed unanimously, by voice vote.
Art reported that the fee charged by the vendor handling our renewal fees was higher than the
expected due to a $2 fee charged for the membership management software fee. There was discussion
of using another software vendor with a fixed one time purchase price.
Scott Etling has agreed to take on the job of auditing the financials of the club.
Art reported that the porta potty company has increased its fees.
Art reported that the service fee of vendor handling or renewal fee has increased over the previous
vendor. He asked that the service fee for website renewal be increased from $3 to $5. A motion was
made, and seconded, to approve this change as proposed. Approval passed unanimously, by voice vote.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT – Bruce Lakatos:
Bruce reports 123 members as of the date of the meeting.
FIELD REPORT — Rex Lawerance:
Rex was not present.

Charles Schafer reported that he and Rex had applied weed killer for a cost of $100 in material.
Mowing has not started.
Art and Daryl applied ant killer and roundup where needed.
SAFETY REPORT — Charles Schafer:
Charles reported no incidents had been reported.
SOUND REPORT – Billy Slater:
Summer time sound rules are in effect with daylight savings time. This means that sound limit is 90 dBa
or less 1 hour before sunset.
TRAINING – Rich Phillips:
Rich reported that limited training is going on now but expect an increase with better weather.
RAFFLE –Rich Phillips :
No raffle tonight. There was a discussion of the possibility of restarting raffles with the restart of in
person meetings.
CD REPORTS and EVENTS:
The Lou Montanaro Memorial Fun-Fly will be held Saturday March 26.
Aero Tow will be held Saturday April 23.
The spring Float Fly will be held Saturday April 30th at Willow Grove Park.
A Member Day Fun-Fly is being planned for sometime in May.
War Birds Over Texas will be held June 10-11.
A fall Float Fly is to be scheduled.
OLD BUSINESS:
A dues change discussed in an earlier meeting is being studied and will be presented in a future meeting.
NEW BUSINESS:
