The May meeting of the North Dallas RC Club occurred on May 19, 2021 via Zoom due to the COVID
pandemic. President Josh Kleen called the meeting to order at 7:07 PM.
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve April meeting minutes as published. Approval passed
unanimously, by voice vote.
VISITORS – None
PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Josh Kleen:
Josh reported that the Float Fly was a success with 27 registered pilots. There was good weather, and a
number of other clubs had members in attendance. Problems with restricted parking caused some
possible pilots to leave.
The AMA web site has good current on the new registration and training requirements of the FAA. Keep
an eye on this.
The sale of a deceased club member’s equipment for the family resulted in a $350 contribution.
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Wayne Shuck:
Wayne was not present.
SECRETARY’S REPORT — Billy Slater:
TREASURER’S REPORT — Dave Cotton:
Dave reported the financial condition as of the end of April.
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve the financial report as presented by Dave. Approval
passed unanimously, by voice vote.
Work is being done to recover funds confiscated by Paypal.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT – Bruce Lakatos:
Bruce was not present.
FIELD REPORT — Rex Lawerance:
Rex was not present.
Josh reported that the field is in very good condition. Thanks to all who put their time and effort into
SAFETY REPORT — Charles Schafer:
Charles was not present but asked through Josh that you be sure that you fly “your” airplane in a gaggle
or other situations where multiple planes are being flown.
SOUND REPORT – Billy Slater:
Summer time sound rules are in effect. This means sound is restricted to 90dBa one hour before sunset
until 9 AM the next day.
TRAINING – Rich Phillips:
Rich reported that two members are starting training.
Josh reported that two members have received a turbine waiver and one more is in progress.
RAFFLE –Rich Phillips :
No raffle this month.
CD REPORTS and EVENTS:
Float Fly was a success.
War Birds Over Texas is scheduled for June 11 and 12. A good turnout is expected. Charles needs
volunteers. Contact him if you can help. Also donations are needed for the raffle.
Member Darryl Kald reports still getting over COVID after two weeks in the hospital and two week in
Lake level needs to be monitored in light of the recent heavy rains.
Josh reported that Melissa is asking for suggestions on the type of cookies and drinks for WBOT.

Dave Schafer showed pictures of a UH-1 model he and Bruce Lakatos built for display at the Cavanaugh
Museum. An Impressive model.
Dave also showed a 76% model of the CG Falcon. Powered by a COX engine with a total weight of 7 oz.
