NDRCC June 2021 Meeting Minutes

The June 2021 meeting of the North Dallas RC Club occurred on June 15th via Zoom. President Josh
Kleen called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM.
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve the May 2021 meeting minutes as published. Approval
passed unanimously, by voice vote.
VISITORS – None
PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Josh Kleen:
All has been quite on the AMA and FAA fronts.
WarBirds over Texas was a success and will be discussed later in the meeting.
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Wayne Shuck:
Wayne is working on the member email distribution application. A small number of members may not
be receiving these emails. If you are not receiving meeting notice emails send Wayne a note at
vice_president@ndrcc.com .
SECRETARY’S REPORT — Billy Slater:
No report.
TREASURER’S REPORT — Dave Cotton:
Dave reported the financial condition as of the end of May .
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve the financial report as presented by Dave. Approval
passed unanimously, by voice vote.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT – Bruce Lakatos:
Bruce was not present but Dave Cotton reported one more member than in May.
FIELD REPORT — Rex Lawerance:
A work crew is scheduled for this Saturday at 10 AM to clean up the canopies destroyed by the
thunderstorm last Saturday at the WBOT.
Art Wagner asked that the temporary drainage ditch dug to drain the walkway to the runway be filled in.
SAFETY REPORT — Charles Schafer:
Charles reported that no incidents have been reported. He reminded all to fly east of the line formed by
the runway, And not to taxi on the walkway to the runway.
SOUND REPORT – Billy Slater:

All are reminded that we are in the summer months and that one hour before sunset the maximum
sound level decreases to 90 dBa from 100 dBA.
TRAINING – Rich Phillips:
No new training has started.
Rich plans to contact the members who were in training before the pandemic to see if they are
interested in continuing.
RAFFLE –Rich Phillips :
No raffle this month.
CD REPORTS and EVENTS:
Richardson club is planning a swap meet for the end of September.
Josh is working on a float fly toward the end of summer.
Josh reported that WBOT was a success in spite of the high winds Friday and the thunderstorm Saturday
morning. This was our 10th time staging this event and we had 57 registered pilots. 150 meals were
served. Raffle was successful with all the items to be raffled donated.
We had many other clubs attend with a large group from the Richardson club.
The AMA Divisional Vice President also attended.
WBOT was a financial success.
Charles and Josh thank all the workers that made this event possible.
