NDRCC Meeting Minutes – April 2022

The April 2022 meeting of the North Dallas RC Club occurred on April 13, 2022 at the Prosper Town Hall
meeting room. President Josh Kleen called the meeting to order at 6:32 PM.
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve the March meeting minutes as published. Approval
passed unanimously, by voice vote.
VISITORS – Jeff Queen who is a former RC pilot looking to fly again.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Josh Kleen:
Aero Tow and Float Fly are coming up,
The Lou Montanaro Fun Fly was a success with a very good turn out. Net Proceeds went to Wounded
Warriors.
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Wayne Shuck:
Wayne reported that he is working on our AMA Gold club certification. There are 9 requirements with 6
of the 9 mandatory. One of these was the reading of AMA rules which was done by Josh Kleen at the
meeting.
SECRETARY’S REPORT — Billy Slater:
No report.
TREASURER’S REPORT — Art Wagner:
Art reported the financial condition as of the end of March.
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve the financial as presented by Art. Approval passed
unanimously, by voice vote.
Art is managing the club’s CD ladder with the expectation that interest rates will be increasing in the
near future.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT – Bruce Lakatos:
Bruce was not present. Bruce reported in April 123 members.
FIELD REPORT — Rex Lawerance:
Rex reported that mowing has not begun.
Fertilizer is being applied.
There was later discussion of some rotted roof support beams and the measures needed to repair.

SAFETY REPORT — Charles Schafer:
There were several trips to retrieve aircraft in the field south of NDRC. The landowner has installed a
cattle guard with especially wide spacing. Anyone going there needs to be careful. At least two people
should retrieve planes and be careful around the animals while they are in this area.
SOUND REPORT – Billy Slater:
I reminded everyone that no internal engine airplanes between one hour before sunset and 9 AM the
next day during summer months
TRAINING – Rich Phillips:
No activity now.
RAFFLE –Rich Phillips :
No raffle was held.
CD REPORTS and EVENTS:
Aero Tow April 23 starts at 10AM. Entry fee is $20 and includes lunch.
Float Fly is April 30 and starts at 9 AM. Entry fee is $20 and includes lunch.
WBOT in June. Charles Schafer needs volunteers.
Fall Float Fly is to be scheduled.
