The October meeting of the North Dallas RC Club occurred on October 23, 2019 at the Frisco Public
Library. President Dave Schaefer called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
A motion was made, and seconded, to approve the September meeting minutes as published. Approval passed unanimously by voice vote.
VISITORS – None
PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Dave Schaefer:
Dave reported that the float fly at Lake Dallas was a success with 17 pilots registered. A Boy Scout group was there for a presentation on model aerodynamics.
On November 9th NDRCC will be present at a Boy Scout gathering of 400-600 Scouts. We will fly small hand launched planes for demonstration. AMA has sent substantial material including the small AMA gliders for handouts to the Scouts.
Dave attended a “Small Cox” event held in Mayflower Arkansas. Engines size was limited to .25 CI or
smaller. Most flew various old Cox engines.
Dave reports that there is no curfew on noise from gas and nitro engines. A proposed rule requiring a 7 pm to 9 am curfew on operating gas and nitro engines with no restrictions on electric will be voted on in the November meeting.
The gate on Brewer road is rusted and has some sharp edges that could be dangerous. A motion was
made, seconded and approved unanimously by voice vote to spend up to $100 to replace. Charles
Schafer will get landlord permission to replace this gate.
Dave brought up the housing developments built or being built nearby and encouraged members to not fly far out, especially large airplanes.
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT — Patrick McNamara:
The November meeting will be held Monday November 25 at the Frisco Library.
The December meeting is currently scheduled for Monday December 23. This may change if a better
date/ location is found.
The officer nominees must be named in the November meeting and a vote will be held in the December meeting.
SECRETARY’S REPORT — Billy Slater:

Dave reported the financial condition as of the end of October. .
A motion was made, and seconded to approve the September financial report as given by Dave.
Approval passed unanimously by voice vote.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT – Bruce Lakatos:
Bruce reports 157 members as of the date of the meeting.
FIELD REPORT — Rodney Mcentire:
A new battery has been purchased for the defibrillator.
SAFETY REPORT — Charles Schafer:
No incidents have been reported.
SOUND REPORT – Billy Slater:
A proposed rule requiring a 7 pm to 9 am curfew on operating gas and nitro engines with no restrictions on electric will be voted on in the November meeting.

A Horizon F-16 EDF will be the quarterly prize to be raffled at the December meeting. Several other nice prizes will also be raffled at the December meeting.
CD REPORTS and EVENTS:
Charles Schafer reported that NDRCC will be presenting model aviation to 400-600 Scouts at Camp
Wisdom. The AMA had supplied us with a large amount of material for the Scouts. If you are interested in helping with this event contact Charles.
Charles discussed the approvals required for the next float fly at Lake Dallas. We will need the Corps of Engineers as well as the city for future events at this site.
Josh Kleen discussed the 400 ft absolute limit rule being proposed by the FAA and AMA efforts to allow variances.

Dave Schaefer gave a presentation on covering with various films. He discussed the charistics of several
types of film and the tools he used.
